Artist Opportunities
Did you know about these exciting ways for artists to engage
with Upper Jay Art Center and Recovery Lounge?
Our ongoing new work series focuses on bringing new plays to life by engaging playwrights in collaboration with a local cast and director/dramaturg to hear their work rehearsed and read aloud for our amazing North Country audience. The goal of the series is to introduce our community to exciting emerging and mid-career artists whose work they might otherwise not discover, and offer playwrights space and resources to further the development of a work-in-progress.

PLAY READINGS
CASTING AND PRODUCTION
Casting - We produce several theatre productions and play readings a year, and we're always seeking to work with new local and guest performers. If you're interested in working with us on a future production, feel free to reach out and share your interest and experience with us at info@upperjayartcenter.org.

Production - We're always looking for helping hands backstage for our ambitious productions (with sound, lighting, etc.). Have a technical theatre skill set to share with us? Don't have experience but open to mentorship on new skills? Email info@upperjayartcenter.org.
Collab Lab is a gathering of local artists (of many different disciplines but primarily related to live performance) who are interested in creating community while developing new work. Each meeting is treated as a rotating workshop of sorts, taking turns helping one another test material and receive supportive feedback/collaboration. We plan as needed to support whoever has an idea that needs eyes/ears/hands to move forward. Meet new potential collaborators! Say that crazy idea out loud and get feedback! Eat snacks and talk about art making!
If you're interested, please reach out to info@upperjayartcenter.org to inquire about meeting times/details.

CO-PRESENTATIONS
While most of our theatre and interdisciplinary productions are developed and produced in-house, we're open to receiving submissions from guest artists/companies to explore possible co-presentations of in-development, completed, and touring productions. Email info@upperjayartcenter.org and share your work with us!
